This week we attended our District training meeting. It was one of the best we have attended. Our District leader switched up our role playing to a way that was so interactive and fun. It was so helpful to watch what the young Elders practice for working with investigators and how it can help us as we work with less actives and in teaching our lessons on self-reliance. We can incorporate the same principles and doctrines of the church. We love these missionaries and their exact obedience to the Lord's work.
After our meeting we noticed that the Elders had brought their lunches and they said it was pupusas. We asked them what they were and it sounded really good so we went to the little Mexican bakery they told us about. ( Two of our Elder are Spanish speaking and they know all the good places to eat.) We ordered chicken tacos and had some pupusas, some pastries that we didn't even know what they were. It was all really good. So I said to Bob, " I can make these." They didn't look that hard so I went on Pinterest and found a recipe to use. Below is our attempt at making the pupusas. While we were at the church waiting to teach a lesson the Elders came by to catch a ride. I told them what I was making and they both wished they could come but had a dinner appointment already.
The sound in there voices made me know that they love these little meat, cheese filled delights. What I don't know is if ours were anything like what the real ones taste like. One good thing about it all is that Bob got right in there and helped. He really made them all. I just put all the ingredients together. That was fun to watch him. Maybe by the end of our mission I will have a cook convert.
