Lessons

Today our assignment was to teach an investigator. People come from the community with real stories in their lives and our job is to practice all the components of teaching the gospel. Her name was Roxann. She lost both parents within 24 hours and wanted to know about where they were.

In our small group class we had just discussed terms people may not understand. Bob and I chose the words mortality and immortality to explain. What a tender mercy. As we talked with her the spirit was felt. During our 30 minute discussion we invited her to read a scripture in the Book of Mormon and we gave her a pamphlet to read. We also asked if she would pray to know what we talked about was true. 

After our group was finished each companionship was evaluated. Scary. We learned that we needed to have more knowledge of passages in the scriptures that we could turn to that helps teach principles or doctrine that wer'e trying to support. Wow this was so interesting and eye opening to us what it truly takes to teach people not just lessons. Hope we do better tomorrow. Yup we do it again
