In the last few days in the MTC we worked on learning and practicing how to teach an investigator. That experience was an eye-opener. It felt so real and we learned from her that we needed to have some scriptures available to us to call upon. You can be sure the next day on our follow up teaching opportunity with a different person we were better prepared and had a plan to follow on the Book of Mormon.
From these 2 experiences we both felt directed by the spirit and connected to this particular investigator and she commented on that very thing.
On our closing day at the MTC ( our anniversary) we were given 2 opportunities to listen to several senior missionaries and their plethora of experiences in the mission field. One particular couple had served over 10 missions together. Their names were the Hawks. AMAZING is all I can say. The other couple served 5 missions together and they worked with Wards and Branch leaders and helped us understand our role in serving.
Over all this week was the best experience in feeling the spirit of missionary work. We both were exhausted but so happy to go the next day. Everyone should have this opportunity.
