We have been super busy this week and love it. We taught 2 lessons last Sunday on self reliance and worked to create 2 more lessons during the week. We have a total of 6 lesson now and 6 more to go.
We were able to find a table for sister Harding who has no furniture. I went to the Salvation Army in Brooklyn Park and went to their back room where things are cheaper and was ready to pay for a Table. When the guy asked me what I was looking for I said a sister in our church needs a table because she doesn't have one, he said go look over there. So I did and found a small table because room is limited. He said good it's yours. I said how much and he kindly said does she need it. I said yes and he said take it--that's what we do. I was thrilled. So Elder Moore and I carried it to the car. No charge.
We called the Elders for help in getting it up the small stairway but needed to take off the legs. We were able to help her have a table and 2 chair. I was so happy. That night she called to thank us.
After that we invited the Elders to go with us to give a Sister in our Branch a blessing. We spent an hour listening to one of the saddest stories ever of her life I can not describe to you the sad life of bad choices. The next morning we took her to an NA rehab center to receive meds for a past addiction. She said now sister Moore don't be scared they won't hurt you they just need help like me.
I'm realizing the Lord loves all his children and some how he is letting me see them as his children who once were lost and are trying so very hard to come back.
Also Elder Moore and I were able to go out on splits with the young missionaries the sisters took me inside Fort Mead to visit several families. It was so fun. I got to hold a new baby.
Last couple of things I want to remember and share. Sister Christiansen invited us to dinner for Camille's birthday but I said I already had the elders coming for dinner and she said bring them. They said - for reals? We get to eat at President's house." They gave an awesome lesson and had a great visit. Our mission President and wife are truly the kindest and most thoughtful people. You feel their love all the time and commitment to their calling and to our Savior. We are truly blessed to serve here in MD.
Friday we helped with our branch party and Saturday we were invited to the temple in DC for our Branch President's son, Mark, temple ordinance before he leaves on his mission next month.
A little side store where I like to go for apples. I saw this pumpkin and was in awe of its size. Can you guess how much it weights?
Dinner at a Mexican restaurant he took the Elders to while on splits and wanted to take me there after the temple.
